Advance Vacuum Filters

The Nilfisk-Advance Vacuum Company offers a full line of filters for their vacuum models. Carefully designed, each filter optimizes the performance of your Nilfisk or CFM vacuum cleaner. 

Ideal for the control of food ingredients, grains, ultra-fine pharmaceutical powders, powder paint, lead, asbestos, silica, pesticides and other nuisances, they work to eliminate hazardous dusts and debris. For critical environments, Nilfisk-Advance filters meet cleanroom standards up to and including ISO 4 (Class 10) standards.

Nilfisk CFM's filters meet or exceed filtration efficiency standards. Their filtration systems, including HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) and ULPA (Ultra Low Penetration Air) filter options, work to increase impurity retention with efficiencies up to 99.999% of particles, down to and including 0.12 microns in size. This encompasses particles too small to be seen that can adversely affect your health as well as work against the life of your vacuum.

Many Nifisk and CFM vacuum cleaners function using mechanical filtration, wherein particles are captured and retained by means of a physical barrier. Balancing particle size against filter media, with air speed and running time as major factors as well, the basic concept is for filter media to trap particles as they pass through in the air current within the vacuum cleaner.  Some Nilfisk Vacuums utilize chemicals for filtration. In this case, the physical characteristics of the gas or vapor are changed.  

All Nilfisk and CFM Vacuum cleaners feature a multi-stage filtration system, whereby a series of progressively finer filtration options from cloth, polyethylene and/or paper capture smaller and smaller particles from the airstream as it travels through the vacuum cleaner.

Paper bag filters are often the first stage of filtration, and Nilfisk offers two levels of paper filtration bags.  Standard two-ply bags offer an inner lining that captures pollutants  at 3 microns in size as air passes through the outer layer, with 99.7% efficiency. Particles smaller than 3 microns continue through the paper bag, and would be captured by the next filter in the process.  A paper bag containing an electrostatic lining of meltdown polypropylene offers finer filtration, attracting particles down to 1.5 microns and retaining 97.8% of them.

Main filters provide maximum surface area for filtration. Typically crafted from napped cotton, the standard Nilfisk main filter retains 99.8% of particles down to 3 microns. Specialty main filters are also available, such as the Gore-Tex® membrane filter that captures with 99.995% efficiency down to .33 microns, and are excellent for cleaning up fine powdery material.  For handling for abrasive particles such as cement, steel or lead, the AES Polycomposite main filter is also available, removing 99.9986% of particles down to .5 microns from the airflow.

Microfilters fit over the bottom of the motor. Nilfisk microfilters are available as standard felt ones that retaining 99.5% of even bacteria-sized particles, down to 3 microns. Specialty microfilters are also available in Gore-Tex® and AES Polycomposite form for higher efficiency needs.

HEPA or ULPA filters are the final stage of filtration, the final defense against impurities re-entering your air. Because Nilfish and CFM vacuums are often used in critical environments, each HEPA filter is individually DOP-tested to verify that it meets HEPA specifications.  HEPA filtration is necessary when collecting most toxic and hazardous debris. Nilfisk HEPA filters retain 99.97% of impurities down to 0.3 microns. When even finer filtration is needed, Nilfisk ULPA filters collect particles down to 0.12 microns with 99.999% efficacy.

Porous Polyethylene Filters are available for use in several wet/dry Nilfisk vacuums, and these are ideal for collecting liquids, resisting water, mildew, rot and corrosion. Washable, these filters capture particles down to 1 micron in size.
