Compact vacuums are manufactured by the Compact/TriStar company.  Compact vacuums are known for high powered air flow and deep cleaning, a quality made vacuum that lasts for decades.

To understand the impact of selecting genuine Compact/Tristar bags over generic bags, understanding the unique construction of the Compact vacuum is necessary:

Compact brand vacuums neither push nor pull air through the dust bag. Instead, the motor guides airflow over the bag and cyclonic action directs the impurities into the bag. As a result, suction and airflow are unaffected as the bags fill up. The bag retains the dirt, preventing escape.

Because of this innovative construction of the Compact vacuum, using generic replacement paper bags may interfere with proper airflow and might seriously damage your vacuum. The "Tristar" logo is printed on each genuine Tristar bag.

While the Compact vacuum may be operated without paper bags, using paper bags along with the cloth filter bag extends the life of the cloth filter bag, and is more sanitary and less hassle for the user. The cloth bag works better as a filter with the support of a paper bag. For peak performance, change the paper bag before it is completely full and never re-use a paper bag.

Based on once-a-week vacuuming, Compact/Tristar recommends replacing paper bags every month, the motor filter once a year and the after filter every 6 paper bag changes.
